What Do You Think About Creationism?

Recently I have run into this type of channel on Youtube:

Where people in the comment section praise the ideology of this man as they were real/fact - that evolution is not real or a science! I see the danger since repeating a lie over and over again can become a reality for others since very few people fact-check statements these days! What do you believe creationism is doing better than science to promote their ideas and why are people so happy with those ideas!?

Belief in a higher power is at the foundation of the United States.  "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights..."  That means the state does not give us our rights, but our rights belong to us.  The state only has power with our consent.

Thinking is hard. Humans tend to, on a whole, accept "easy answers" whenever they can. Religion offers those easy answers in spades:
-why am I alive? God did it.
-why is there something instead of noting? God did it.
-What should I do with my life? This book tells you that "God says you should do this"

-I'm afraid of death. Book says death ok, God take you into awesomeness. Give everything God's church, he make it better not scary. Ok if poor and unfair now, god make not-poor and not-unfair after death.

Easy. No need to think. Think hard. Think make brain hurt. Stupid more easier than think. Screw think!

That's about the best I can boil down. It's the same reason snake oil salesmen can make a living, and "microsoft technical support" from dubai can cold-call the ignorant and extort hundreds of dollars to fix problems that are not there.

So basically, it's a combination of ignorance and fear that makes these people so devoted that they think a folklore book gives them more value than true facts that show us that nothing is eternal and that we are not born with a purpose in life since the Universe is formed/molded out of chaos events itself without any evidence of an entity intervention!?

There's a huge difference between believing that life has meaning because there must be reason why there's something rather than nothing and believing in the provably false and generally absurd claims of a specific religion.

I agree, mostly.

 

I would just add, that all organized religions are pretty much absurd, although some do some good, for example orphanages and such.
