Tim_Lou Posted February 25, 2004 Report Share Posted February 25, 2004 this is gonna be the discussion of soul!!!!(spirit might not be right, i apologize...) soul, think about yourself, how wonderful it is to be a human sitting there and think about all these stuffs in front of a human invented computer! do souls exist? or are we just controlled by genetic materials and organic compounds? if souls exist, does it apply to other organisms? what about plants? what about sigle cell organisms?if it doesn't exist, why is everyone different and having their unique own random thoughts? and why cant humans made an organism from non-living matter? is it because it needs a soul? if organisms come from dead matter, what motivates them to co-work w/ each other? simply b/c of the speciality of carbon? y not silicon?.....is there some reason else thats related to soul? i personally believe that soul exists, whats your opinion of it? No, I don't agree with Freethinker about everything. And yes, he rips my thoughts and beliefs apart on a regular basis. But grow up, rileyj! Freethinker brings up good points. Just because you may not agree with his style (I know I don't always) that's no reason to think you can truly piss him off! I doubt anyone at this site could truly get under his skin. To find 'answers' you must look at mysticism. I provided a book that you might like (it's from the philosophy of wicca, but wicca is inherently christian - so i thought it would go down well with you). "I Come as a Brother" A Remembrance of Illusions, by BartholomewISBN 0-9614010-1-X It's filled with ideas that echo some of the thoughts you have expressed in this and other threads. You'd probably get a kick out of it! i really think it would be right up your alley, Tim. Also, for fiction, nothing beats Bach!! Many good questions Tim. They show how illogical the concept of the soul is. Filled with arbitrary assertions that contradict themselves. But one point, humans CAN and DO make organisms from non-living matter (depending on your def of living/ non-living). We consume food, minerals, .... and we convert them into various organisms.
