Not quite an aurora - or at least a very different aurora.  Citizen Scientists have discovered the mystery of the Purple Lights:  https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/03/180314144930.htm?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sciencedaily%2Ftop_news%2Ftop_science+%28ScienceDaily%3A+Top+Science+News%29

If you live in an area where you may see STEVE or an aurora, submit your pictures and reports to Aurorasaurus through aurorasaurus.org or the free iOS and Android mobile apps. To learn how to spot STEVE:

Here is also a very interesting article https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2018/mystery-of-purple-lights-in-sky-solved-with-help-from-citizen-scientists

The starry sky has always fascinated me, so now my hobby is to study astronomy in my spare time.
