Science Daily has a report about possible treatment of brain injury in strokes.  The researchers say they have found how the drug QNZ-46 helps to lessen the effects of excess release of glutamate in the brain.

As usual, Google's search engine, after listing several links to articles about glutamate, has a list of related questions with answers.  One question is "what foods contain glutamate?"  It then lists some foods that contain glutamate.

My question is "are the foods with glutamate pertinent to the release of "too much glutamate in the brain?"  I don't know why but it somehow does not seem to be.  I am probably wrong.  Just wondering.

I did find this in a Wiki article:  Glutamic acid is used by almost all living beings in the biosynthesis of proteins, being specified in DNA by the codons GAA or GAG. It is non-essential in humans, meaning the body can synthesize it.
