he was not christian nor was he muslim. he was probably atheist

He published a book on cosmology in 2010 in which, he asserted, the idea of God as creator of the universe is shown to be redundant.

So effectively he joins Laplace in saying "I have no need of that hypothesis".

with this notation,we also understand that laplace was not muslim nor was he christian ,too.

Thanks. But, er, isn't this rather silly - a bit like "International Talk Like a Pirate Day"?

Do we have an "e" day? I'm sure Euler would insist.

hahahahha :) :) :) I also think that it would be silly to think that day would be a private day ,like thinking spefically arranged (on that day).

it is only contingence

Mind you, International Talk Like a Pirate Day was quite funny, when I was still working. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Talk_Like_a_Pirate_Day

You could ring the trading desk at Shell and get "Ahoy, me hearties, Arrrr! " or something, instead of a normal greeting.

any excuse for eating pie will do for me :bounce:   Although it does help raise awareness of the value of pi, I suppose, although I wasn't aware awareness was lacking.

According to this: https://www.timeanddate.com/date/e-day.html there is actually an "e" day, on the 7th February if you American or 27th January if you are European. I think this is a bit tongue-in-cheek: the idea is to find a date that looks a bit like 2.7, which is e to 2 sig. figs.

Anyway, a chance to draw attention once more to the mysterious connection that Euler found between these two famous transcendental numbers:

 e^iπ +1 = 0.

hımmm transcendent theory...it was a closed door as I remember.

I've never heard of "transcendent theory".

e and π are transcendental numbers, i.e. numbers for which there is no finite polynomial equation.

e is the sum of an infinite series: 1+x + x²/2 +..... xⁿ/N!+...........

sorry. it was probably liouville theorem.

there was a theorem about transcendency , it express an idea ,we can give many many examples but cannot prove the inverse of theorem.

I have not remembered very well.
