Phosphorylation?

The chemical "battery" that releases energy for many of the biochemical processes in the cell is a molecule called adenosine triphosphate, ATP.

This can hydrolyse to release one or two phosphate groups, plus energy. The reverse process, building up ATP by adding phosphate groups, is what recharges this "battery". This is called phosphorylation and is what the energy from metabolism of carbohydrates, for example, does. The energy released by "burning" carbohydrates such as glucose with oxygen (and producing carbon dioxide and water) generates ATP, for later use in cellular processes that require energy. ATP is universal in life and is thus thought of as probably one of the first bits of common biochemistry to have arisen. Or so I understand.

Phosphorylation?

So scientist have found a compound that may have something to do with the origin of life on Earth

So, what do you have interest in?

None of your business.

In this thread I have been helping Hazelm to understand the biochemistry behind the research finding she was asking about. Perhaps you can guess why I might be interested in answering a question about that.

So you are helping Hazlem in biochemistry behind her research finding, that's interesting, so if you don't mind, may i ask you where you do your research to answer her research finding so that i can do a little research of my own
