The paper Trump signed just tells the Department of Education to "try to" spend $200M on "STEM" and makes passing reference to the dearth of computer science classes in high schools. The current Trump budget proposal has cuts of over 13 percent to the Department of Education, which means that that $200M is going to have to come out of something else and then some. But it's the thought that counts! No one really wants to not promote education! :cheer: Side note, my daughter went through one of the best-funded public school districts in California, and they barely had any Computer Science classes at all. This was a fad in the 90s, but with the massive budget cuts at state and federal level after the 2001 recession, most of those programs withered away. Some believers claim that can make things happen. Buffy, my friend said the same thing. They cut the education budget. So where is the money coming from. Funding schools is not a popular "sport". I put it that way because of what I witnessed one year. A levy was voted on for some new school funding. It was defeated. Just three months later, a bond issue was voted on to build a new sports stadium. It passed overwhelmingly. That says it all.
