Is It An Asteroid Or A Comet? Or A Future Planet?

All right.  I added the last but aren't colliding asteroids capable of forming planets?  So, here are these two asteroids circling each other in a blue dance, creating a comet-like tail.  And, what if they collide?   With signs of icy water, it may tell us how water came to Earth.  Or, so scientists hope.   Question:    Is the blue ellipse the artist's conception?  Or is it "for real" as seen by astronomers via the telescope?
