petrushkagoogol
If sport is an extension of play, then why are some sports like boxing or wrestling violent?
Maine farmer
Having grown up with siblings, I can tell you from my childhood experience, play often leads to some level of violence.

Maine farmer
Hmmm...the Cain and Abel analogy ? I wouldn't say that. My siblings and I all made it to adulthood and maintained close relationships. Playing with siblings as a child gives a chance to test and develop strength, and learn to control strength and temper. It seems inevitable that some fighting will take place. Edited March 15, 2016 by Farming guy
