Are nuclear families more stable than large ones on account of their simple and compact social structures ?

Growing up in a large family provides practice in conflict resolution

Conflict need not lead to instability.  Resolving conflict can lead to a stronger bond, even between adversaries.  It is only the unresolved conflicts that cause problems.
