If A Person Eats And Absorbs 1000 Calories When Their Bmr Is 1500, Will They Lose Weight?

This is assuming 100% of calories are fully absorbed in the gut, so a 1000 calorie meal translates to 1000 calories absorbed (any more would violate the COE laws).

Their BMR is 1500 and this is a fixed value in this situation.

Would the person lose weight?

This may seem like a trick question but i just read an article about 'fat bacteria'. It said that people who are obese aren't over eating but a bacteria makes them rapidly gain weight.

Now I can see some bacteria meaning the gut is much more efficient at absorbing the calories ****that are already there on the packet**** so would a person absorbing less calories than their body burns just to stay alive lose weight/energy stores, regardless of gut flora?

I see many overweight people using this 'fat bacteria' as an excuse, and it seems to be being taken very seriously as of late.
