Bio-printing Transplantable Tissues

Thinking about a friend of mine who was just recently put in the hospital after a car hit him on his bike this really jumps out at me. How amazing would it be if we could do something like this for people with severe injuries and diseases that need a new organ (like my dad when he needs a lung transplant). There would be no more "waiting list" and a possibility of never finding a match.

Wow, it would be such a helpful thing. I actually do not know a lot about bio-printing and what is or is not available. I imagine those advances are quite a few years off to happen though. Interesting, makes me want to go and see where we currently are with that.
