Smart Wristband With Changable Components

Recommended Posts

This product is a wristband that comes with electronic components that you can interchange and add with others. The product is called a "Nex Band" and it is from Misty, a startup based out of Montreal. They want to start selling it later this year for $50 and the additional components will by $7. It will have electronic components like; microcontroller, a vibration motor, a Bluetooth radio and a battery that will last for two to four days. They are trying to hook into the teenage buyers.

imo the smart watch era is still a year or two off. The more they can link the bands/watches with social media and gaming the more it will be accepted by teens at least. Should be interesting to see what develops in the next 5 years.

They should also build in sensors so that the impacts of constant 24/7 social stimulation on the human body can be monitored and addressed.

This type of device may prove to be a good device that could be used to monitor and keep people in certain critical occupations awake and on the ball though.
