What The Bleep Do We Know?

Dark Mind

Recommended Posts

The title of this thread is actually the title of a movie, and a very good one at that. It is an educational film on quantum mechanics with a story that cuts in and out to help explain what is being said or to introduce a new topic. I just watched it a few hours ago and I fell I'm going to watch it tomorrow to better understand it. :)

Everyone interested in physics or theology should watch this one, or if you just want to learn something new.:D

I guess it could be called pseudo-science. Although they provide photographic evidence of altered water molecules and claim that it was due to the blessing of a Zen Buddhist Monk (Looked like a snowflake or something) and other altered molecules due to the way the people *thought* about the water, there is no proof that it was the thoughts that changed the structure, strong evidence, but nothing solid. The whole movie dealt mainly with Quantum Mechanics/Quantum Physics and the ways in which we interact with our surroundings and how we can alter and shape them to our liking and other such stuff. Made really convincing arguments (at least in my mind, I even tried the old mind over matter routine again :D, more failed results though :) )

The science in the movie is fundamentally flawed, in several ways. Don't expect to learn anything about QM from it, and if you feel you did- you're probably more confused.

First problem of many- we can control the quantum field to create events around us, according to our own desires. That's simply false... and it goes down hill from there.

I thought it was an interesting video, then again I haven't taken any classes or courses in Quantum Mechanics. Oh well, I'm only sixteen, plenty of time to learn. :)

I thought at least some parts were based on scientific fact, er theory. Never mind :D.

What was with the water molecule part, and wasn't the basketball section part of a widely accepted theory?
