(and as an added bonus my Email via the notification thingy) and not the tasty kind either. I recall it used to be much harder for these bumnuggets to get through. What happened? Need to find a way to combat it, but my work plate has been terribly full since Sat, and will be for another day or two. Turtle Posted February 8, 2012 Report Share Posted February 8, 2012 back when we had postmagnet and tormod was busy, he gave me administrative priveleges so i could take care of the spammers. from that experience i can say with confidence it would take me 15 minutes to ban all the spammers currently in the status boxes and delete their posts. in the last 2 months or so we have added 1500 new members and 99% of them are spammers. there are some logged in right now and i wager we'll have half a dozen new ones by tomorrow. i started a thread asking about this ... spammers @ hypography and got no response. do we really care so little for our forum? what seems to be the problem? if this place is worth having it's worth maintaining. othewise we should change the logo to bullshit for everyone. Turtle Posted February 8, 2012 Report Share Posted February 8, 2012 well i was wrong...only 5 & not 6 new spammers since my last post. i see the blog entries where this member , http://scienceforums.com/user/28349-none/ , was talking about murdering someone for sport have been deleted, but the member was not banned or even suspended. they are logged in as i type. the spammers in the update box remain. i honestly don't get it. someone on staff care to explain?
