True, it would be advantageous, but it could just be comprable to a quicker recovery rate, which would probably have a lower energy cost than a polyphalic situation.

 

You could do both- quick recovery time, just use one. Going for the gusto, use two. It would allow a degree of flexibility in planning for conception (no pun intended) ;)

There is a real genetic disorder called polydactylism that cause extra digits on the hands and toes... Could we evolve to a polyphalic species? Many lizards and snakes essentailly do. Many have two hemi-peni that are used in reproduction. so it seems at least biologically feasable.

 

Lord no! My body couldn't stand the strain of lugging two things this huge around!!! :-)

i don't know if this can even be predicted. we are at the top of the food chain, do we need to change our appearance?

 

 

If we, however killed 99% of life or whatever we may need to compete for food. Some humans may adapt and the lesser humans may die off. Or in the distant future, something bubbling out there (famous quote) may surpass even us and we wouldn't be the top of the food chain.
