Dr. John Holdren (harvard.edu)

Dr. Eric Lander (mit.edu)

Dr. Jane Lubchenco (oregonstate.edu)

Dr. Harold Varmus (mskcc.org)

SUBJECT: THE GREAT AMERICAN SCIENCE FRAUD AND ITS COVER UP

First of all, please believe me when I tell you this is not a crackpot matter. This letter is being simultaneously posted on an Internet site:

OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA COUNCIL OF SCIENCE ADVISORS

For nearly two years now, a gigantic science fraud involving US scientists, US Government agencies and US taxpayers' money has been brought to light. The Swedish Nobel organization has been hoodwinked into anointing this fraud with a Nobel Prize. Please visit:

NASA SCIENCE FRAUD

No one has done anything about this, including the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) whose jurisdiction it was to deal with this matter.

Your colleagues in the scientific establishment have remained completely silent. The worst of them are thus dishonest and dishonorable, and the best of them are choosing to look the other way. Such is how the academia is behaving.

It is possible - but I am not at all sure about this - that the only person who has displayed any honesty in this matter is a much-vilified bureaucrat, NASA Administrator Michael Griffin. He did not have any role in this fraud, but when confronted with it, he may have done something bold about it.

The question now is this: Given all this talk about how wonderful President Obama's science picks have been, what are going to do about this? Are you going to serve him well or are you going to fail him right off the bat? And who shall apologize to the World?
