alexander
south, i think you are mistaken about egyptians in the most fundementalest of ways, especially pyramid builders...
Southtown
Well, sorry. It just seems to me that someone who would have pyramids built for their own burial would be slightly skewed in their sense of self-importance. You could probably prove me wrong, though. alexander
no that part is extremely correct, remeber pharaohs were considered gods, so yes, they thought godly of themselves. But the people who built pyramids were not scared into doing so, they were doing this willingly, because what better thing to do in your life then serve a God... Southtown
I stand corrected. lol What in your opinion was their motivation, then? Acceptance?
alexander
since they willingly flocked to build the pyramids, i think it was equated with getting you and your family a good spot in the afterlife, though i also believe that plentiful food and annual flood was a motivation as well, to continue to be looked after by the gods, to be on their good side.... Southtown
I saw a cable docudrama which claimed that the young males were drafted into service at a certain age. Not that I put a lot of faith in those shows, and you may be able to show otherwise. But I'll look around for it. Here it is, I think. That didn't take long. alexander
I have seen that documentary, the thing about it is that it was written pre some of the late discoveries that have seemed to rewrite our understanding of their civilization, especially pertaining to the pyramid builders...
