Knots

Recommended Posts

Knots have always fascinated me for some reason.

For my purposes, I use one of the following knots mainly: sheepshank, bowline and a bit, square, thieves knot, or clove hitch.

For camping and general rope use, I've found these knots to be all that I need.

Nonetheless, I love learning new knots. The animations on that site are perfect. :naughty:

Racoon,

You come up with some of best threads.

When I was a kid, from 10 to 15 years old, I went to a ten day summer camp every year called Camp Lake of the Woods.

I learned all kinds of great stuff there over the years like canoeing, horseback riding, and backpacking and rappelling.

We also learned how to tie a bunch of different knots like square knots, slip knots, hitches, and sheepshanks, which I thought was fun and would really come in handy throughout my life.

Of course, I forgot most of them accept for the basic ones, and there's been a bunch of times when I was trying to tie something off and was frustrated because I couldn't remember any of the knots I'd learned.

This site will really come in handy. :naughty:

Thanks for sharing.
