There are many scientists that believe that elemantary particles are pointlike (until the contrary is proved), as reality can be described in this way. An electron has spin 1/2 and is an elemantary particle, what does then structure mean? And adding to that I think (what I read in the book Group theory and QM by tinkham) the fact that you have to turn the particle twice to have again the same spin isn't a problem from the physical viewpoint, because if after one turn you have a minus sign in front of your wavefunction the probabvilty density stays the same as it is the module squared....
