Hello everyone,

I know that there are people who reads these forums from almost everywhere. So i wanted to know about "Plastic Surgery" in your area. (its one of the few professions i am looking into) Is Plastic surgery excepted where you live? Do u know someone who has had it? Or any other stories that may pertain. I know that in some areas of the USA that plastic surgery maybe frowned upon. Like in my small town... Can't wait to hear what you guys have to say, i am NEVER disapointed.

Move to Kalee-Fornee-ah. Hardly anyone around here has NOT had plastic surgery. Esp SoCal. You have to put up with our wacky politics (although there is something for everyone from Sheila Kuehl (Zelda from Dobie Gillis) to Darrell Issa (one of the few Congresspersons ever arrested for grand theft auto, but foots the bill for the recall of any Democrat possible even if they've never even jaywalked)), but there will be no shortage of plastic surgery customers. You can even specialize in just Botox, or lip implants or eyebrow lifts depending on what you're interested in.

Unfortunately, you need to be a doctor or a lawyer in order to be able to afford to live here these days....

Cheers,

Buffy

California, Yes yes. Gatta be the #1 place to do plastic surgery. Most major citys are. But like i said, here in my lil town, its frowned upon. But whate about other parts of the world?
It is more professionally referred to as cosmetic surgery, and it is a highly respected medical practice. One advantage to the doctors is they don't usually have to deal with insurance companies for their payment and the patients sign thorough disclaimers for potential malpractice. It is also highly competitive and there are lots of scoundrels out there who are not legitimate. It isn't more expensive that other similar surgery, just not paid for by HMO's and such. Cosmetic surgery can do wonders for self esteem if a person believes some flaw is a factor.

There are advantages to those small towns, so I guess I don't blame you for wanting to stay there...

Here's a thought tho: I can think of one procedure that might pass the test of being medcally necessary (even though the insurance companies appear not to agree), and might pass muster even in a very conservative location: breast reduction. I've known several people who have had it and although it might seem counter intuitive to guys, it dramatically improved their self-esteem. The prob with small towns of course is that the concentration of particular medical needs can be somewhat limited....at least you could move to the big city and your mom could still proudly and honestly say what you do for a living...

Cheers,

Buffy

Reconstrutive and cometic surgery all kinda can be "mushed" into plastic surgery as a blanket term. But i didn't want to leave any out. Breat reduction and enlarment are all very big right now in the great US of A...why i can only imagine...being a guy :)...

Anyways, the pay, compition and everythign else is all a great attraction to me for the job...BUT, the bad part is...college is a min. of 16 years...yah...minimum! No wonder there are so many frauds out there.
